[Announcement] OPT Launches Business-Academia Collaborative Project with Yamashita Laboratory, Sophia University ― Aims to Develop Statistical Techniques for Time Series Forecasting of Advertising Effectiveness Using Deep Learning ―

The “Data Intelligence Team,”(*1) an AI research and development team within “Opt Technologies,” the in-house engineering group of OPT, Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo; President & CEO: Daisuke Kanazawa; hereinafter “OPT”), an Innovation Agency leading the digital shift, has commenced business-academia collaboration with the Yamashita Laboratory at the Department of Information and Communication Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Sophia University (Assistant Professor:  Haruka Yamashita; hereinafter “Yamashita Lab”) (*2).

OPT’s “Data Intelligence Team” is engaged in data research and the development of data analysis tools.

Recently, it has undertaken projects including the development of “AlloSim,” a system for simulating advertising budget allocation, and proof of concept (PoC) for “Handy CEM,” an AI tool for developing loyal customers.

 

Meanwhile, the Yamashita Lab at Sophia University is engaged in developing new data analysis technologies for improving the quality of corporate products and services, with the motto “quality science.”

This new collaborative research with the Yamashita Lab focuses on the following two themes.

 

<Research Themes>

 - Time series data analysis and times series forecasting of advertising effectiveness using deep learning

 - Development of new statistical analysis techniques for user survey data, based on the CEM model

 

In the future, OPT will continue to be a digital partner in corporate marketing, researching and proposing new measures to maximize the effect of advertising while quickly responding to changes in technology.

 

*1 About Data Intelligence Team

This is an AI R&D team at “Opt Technologies,” an engineer group within OPT. The team seeks to develop AI that can be used in actual marketing, and dedicates itself every day to R&D and data analysis for AI that is useful in the marketing and promotion of advertisers.

The Yamashita Laboratory is engaged in developing new statistical techniques for the analysis of quality data, from the dual perspectives of “1. Improving product quality” and “2. Improving service quality.” It contributes to improve the quality of products and services by developing and utilizing new statistical techniques for the analysis of increasingly massive and complicated data sets.
