  • 1994
    March Established as Deca Legs Ltd. in Motoazabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo Commenced a marketing business utilizing FAX DM
    The Company was named after comparing the five joint investors to toes on a foot. The term Deca Legs is a reference to the “ten legs” of the owners, and came from the determination of the five to walk forward together. The Company was founded in a room of the Shuwa Akasaka Residential Hotel, right at the back of Tokyo Midtown. At the time, its registered capital was 3 million yen.

  • 1995
    April Changed the company name to OPT, Inc.
    The origin of OPT is “optimism.”
    It is also an acronym for “objective, personal, timely.”

    Relocated corporate office to Akasaka Maru Building
    For the first time, the Company did business from an office-style building.

    Entered into e-marketing services
  • 2000
    Developed and launched ADPLAN, Japan’s first ever effectiveness measurement system for marketing activities
    Facilitated the visualization of advertising effectiveness, previously the exclusive domain of mass advertising agencies, enabling a PDCA cycle based on data. The Company gained the support of advertisers, and began growing rapidly. Incidentally, the development of ADPLAN was contracted to KAYAC Inc. In this year, the Company also conducted its first ever large-scale fundraising. At the same time as it gained a capital increase of 300 million yen through third-party allocation of shares, mostly to venture capital, the Company decided to exit the FAX DM business that it had engaged in since founding, and to specialize in Internet services.

    July Recognized as Best Partner by Yahoo! JAPAN. Net sales were 4.3 billion yen, with around 50 employees.
    The Company became the first of 300 advertising distribution agencies ever to achieve its budget targets for ten years consecutively.

    Initial market capitalization was 16,694 million. Net sales for this year totaled 9.4 billion yen, with around 119 employees.

    Launched CLASSIFIED, Inc.
    Formed a capital and business alliance with DENTSU INC. in the e-marketing business.
  • 2006
    Established Crossfinity Inc. to strengthen SEO
    Established a subsidiary in Beijing, China
    Relocated to the Otemachi Building

    Published “Businessmen Die Once at 35,” the first book by Noboru Hachimine

    Established ConnectOM, Inc., and strengthened the omnichannel business
    Established Groover, Inc.
    SoldOut, Inc. launched LISKUL, know-how media covering all aspects of online marketing, with a focus on listing ads
    Participated in China (Shenzhen) New Media Advertising Industrial Park, the first Chinese national advertising project
    Established a joint venture in China, and concluded a business alliance agreement with Tencent and JD.com in the e-commerce domain

    Transitioned to a holding company structure, and changed the company name to “OPT Holding, Inc.” Established OPT, Inc. through a company split
    OPT, Inc. was spun off as a specialized e-marketing subsidiary, to respond to dramatic market changes
    Established OPT Ventures, Inc. (currently Bonds Investment Group Inc.), a CVC company
    The Company supported the growth of RAKSUL INC., which was listed in 2018. The Company also supports ventures such as Jimoty and SPACEMARKET.
    Established Growth Gear Co., Ltd., and strengthened human resources support services for SMEs, venture and growth companies
    Established OPT Incubate Inc., specializing in new business planning
    Launched “kakeru” media exploring the possibilities of social media

    SoldOut, Inc. was listed on the Mothers Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange
    Established brainy, Inc. and strengthened the publisher support business
    Disbanded the alliance with DENTSU INC.
    Published “Styles of ‘Reading Ability’ Training for Aspiring Corporate Officers,” the second book by Noboru Hachimine
    Published “Digital Marketing Strategy: A Casebook”
