1994March Established as Deca Legs Ltd. in Motoazabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo Commenced a marketing business utilizing FAX DMThe Company was named after comparing the five joint investors to toes on a foot. The term Deca Legs is a reference to the “ten legs” of the owners, and came from the determination of the five to walk forward together. The Company was founded in a room of the Shuwa Akasaka Residential Hotel, right at the back of Tokyo Midtown. At the time, its registered capital was 3 million yen.

1995April Changed the company name to OPT, Inc.The origin of OPT is “optimism.”
It is also an acronym for “objective, personal, timely.” -
1996Relocated corporate office to Akasaka Maru BuildingFor the first time, the Company did business from an office-style building.

1997Entered into e-marketing services

2000Developed and launched ADPLAN, Japan’s first ever effectiveness measurement system for marketing activitiesFacilitated the visualization of advertising effectiveness, previously the exclusive domain of mass advertising agencies, enabling a PDCA cycle based on data. The Company gained the support of advertisers, and began growing rapidly. Incidentally, the development of ADPLAN was contracted to KAYAC Inc. In this year, the Company also conducted its first ever large-scale fundraising. At the same time as it gained a capital increase of 300 million yen through third-party allocation of shares, mostly to venture capital, the Company decided to exit the FAX DM business that it had engaged in since founding, and to specialize in Internet services.

2002July Recognized as Best Partner by Yahoo! JAPAN. Net sales were 4.3 billion yen, with around 50 employees.The Company became the first of 300 advertising distribution agencies ever to achieve its budget targets for ten years consecutively.
