SIGNATE Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo; President & CEO: Shigeru Saito), which provides AI human resource hiring and training services related to AI development and operation, announces that its “SIGNATE” AI development competition website has surpassed 20,000 registered users.

The flipside of the recent spectacular growth in the use of AI and big data across society is the resulting worldwide shortage of AI human resources. “SIGNATE” has a membership base consisting of students and ordinary citizens with AI development skills who provide AI development solutions for companies via an open competition. The participation of a large number of members broadens the range of exploratory analysis that greatly affects the accuracy of AI models, which enables the procurement of a highly accurate AI.

Currently, the number of registered users is growing rapidly, surpassing 20,000 members in a little over a year since launch. 75% of the registered users are ordinary citizens and 25% are students. About half of users have a master’s degree or higher, and both the ordinary citizens and students participating in the website have advanced skill levels. Competitions have been held at many companies and organizations, and this is the only platform in Japan that has been used as training material for human resource development in the University of Tsukuba Extension Program and the User Promotion Program of the “Tellus” satellite data platform.

The goal is to reach a total of 100,000 members by 2022, and contribute to society as the largest AI human resource platform in Japan.
