[Digital Support] OPT Starts Providing Creative Packages for TikTok Advertisements. Rendering TikTok’s Unique Worldview by Blending Sound and Video

OPT, Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo; President & CEO: Daisuke Kanazawa; hereinafter “OPT”) intends to start providing creative production packages optimized for TikTok’s unique worldview, targeting TikTok advertising service sales. This will strengthen marketing support for a wide range of ages, focusing on younger people.

In recent years, consumer use of the internet has grown in tandem with the evolution of digital environments. Particularly notable is the use of video media and social media by younger people during a lot of their free time. As such, marketing for younger people requires unique communication that targets this age range.

TikTok is a short movie app that was originally popular in Japan and elsewhere with younger users, but is now experiencing user growth in many other age groups as well. The user shoots and edits a video to match a 15-second music clip, and then shares the video to get Likes or Comments from users around the world.

Advertisements are distributed in roughly the same format as videos posted by regular users. This means that in addition to high quality images, videos need to be produced creatively with music and special sound effects that will appeal to TikTok’s unique users.

OPT previously established the “Studio CANVAS”* creative studio to perform fast and high-quality production. However, to develop creative content suitable for the special characteristics of TikTok, OPT formed a new “Sound Unit” to analyze and verify sounds used in video such as music, narration and sound effects.

This initiative enables the shooting, music composition, production and distribution of video creative content that is specialized for TikTok. Compared to conventionally produced content, clickthrough rates were increased by about 20%, greatly improving advertising effectiveness.
